The diversity of North Queensland’s fresh produce is on show for all to see, hear, taste, touch and smell at the Feast of the Senses.
Indulge in a sumptuous array of exotic tropical fruits and flowers, vegetables, locally made wine and spirits, meats and ocean produce against the tropical backdrop of Innisfail.
As well as cooking demonstrations and art exhibitions, the Feast culminates in a fabulous Market Day Extravaganza where stallholders from all fields of agriculture, the arts and tourism in the North Queensland converge on the town centre to set up market and information stalls.
My Government through our Toward Q2 initiative has the ambition to protect Queensland’s lifestyle and environment.
That’s why we support events such as the Feast of the Senses through the Queensland Events Regional Development Program.
This program has provided more than $11.5 million to over 548 regional events since it started as a world-first initiative in 2001.
These events bring in business, create jobs, attract tourists, fuel growth and prosperity and give a tremendous sense of pride for the local host communities.
Across the State, thousands of individuals, community groups, local councils and in some cases entire towns, put countless hours into ensuring their events are a success.
Enjoy the Feast and I hope you will have an opportunity to discover more of Queensland’s great events in the coming year.
